Colorado LPN Training
In the current economy, it can be very discouraging to look at the types of jobs that are available. Most companies are very reluctant to hire new people unless they have years of related experience and education. Anyone who wants to be able to achieve a secure job that will allow them to provide for your family for many years to come might want to consider Colorado LPN training. This specialized training course is designed to prepare an individual to become a licensed practical nurse and provide crucial support to doctors and nurses in a variety of health care settings.
Colorado LPN training is a fast-paced, specialized training course that helps students become licensed practical nurses. Licensed practical nurses are responsible for providing care to patients in nursing homes, mental health facilities, and hospitals alongside doctors and registered nurses.
Becoming an LPN in Colorado
In Colorado, the Nurse Practice Act dictates that no one may work as an LPN in Colorado without a Colorado License or temporary permit. An individual may either become licensed by examination or by endorsement.
An individual should apply to become licensed by examination if he or she meets one of the following requirements:
- He or she has completed an LPN training program but is not licensed as an LPN in another state or territory
- He or she was educated as an LPN outside the United States, and is not licensed in another state or territory
An individual should apply to become licensed by endorsement if he or she is already licensed as a RN or LPN in another state or territory.
The Colorado Board of Nursing may issue a permit to practice as a practical or professional nurse for a period not exceeding two years (or as determined by the Board) to an individual from another state or territory of the United States or a foreign country who is in Colorado for special training or for observation of nursing educational programs, providing such person is currently licensed to practice as a nurse in the state, territory, or country of residency.
Additional Resources
Like in other parts of the country, LPNs in Colorado work directly with patients, clients, and facility residents.
LPN duties include performing basic diagnostic tests, administering medication to patients, giving shots and injections, obtaining patients' vital signs, as well as many other important responsibilities.
As a Colorado LPN, you might specialize in obstetrics, pediatrics, surgery or psychiatry or another nursing specialty that interests you.

Why Online LPN Classes?
Being a licensed practical nurse is a great career. But many working adults who want to become an LPN have an extremely busy schedule - balancing a full-time job, family commitments and other personal responsibilities. The traditional classroom setting offered by most local LPN schools doesn't offer the same flexibility as taking their LPN classes online.
Online programs allow students to fit their education into their already busy schedule - studying and taking exams when it's convenient for them. LPN students can access their online classroom 24 hours per day / seven days per week.
Also, taking LPN nursing courses online saves students even more time, as online students don't need to commute to school. Online schools enable busy people to get LPN training, without interfering with their current job or personal life.
