The LPN to BSN program is designed to mimic the BSN program. Students will be expected to take part in a variety of basic academic courses, ranging from English to math, in addition to their nursing courses and clinicals. The only difference with the LPN to BSN program is that nursing students will earn their BSN degree in three to four years, compared to the four to six years it can take to earn a BSN degree through a traditional program. The accelerated pace is due to the fact that nursing students can use previous work experience towards their degree.

The LPN to BSN program allows students to opt to test out of basic nursing courses. The school will administer a written test that will encompass all the skills and knowledge a student would learn if they were in the basic nursing course. If the student passes they are exempt from taking the basic nursing course and can move to the advanced nursing courses. Another option students have with the LPN to BSN program is the ability to use work experience towards their clinicals.
