This program will help nurses obtain an advanced nursing degree without requiring them to quit their current jobs.

An LPN to BSN program is designed specifically for students who already have extensive experience in the healthcare or nursing industry. This program allows these individuals to earn their BSN degree in a shorter span of time. A traditional BSN degree program can take four to six years to complete, but the LPN to BSN program takes only three to four years to complete. This program moves at an accelerated pace due to the fact that students have the option to test out of basic nursing classes or use their work experience towards clinicals.

Students who may have learned expensive skills and knowledge in the nursing industry through work experience have the option to test out of basic nursing classes. These classes are usually basic nursing classes. A student will take a written test that shows that they have a complete and well-rounded amount of knowledge in the nursing industry. If the student passes, they are exempt from taking the basic nursing class and can move on to a more advanced class. This set up allows students to complete their degree faster than if they had to take all the nursing courses.

The knowledge a student gains from attending an LPN to BSN program is very similar to a traditional BSN program. Students are still expected to attend traditional college courses, such as English, math, social sciences and communication. They are still required to obtain a 2.5 GPA in these traditional classes. Students are also required to take multiple basic and advanced courses in healthcare and nursing.
